Thinking
“Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, you are unlikely to step up and take responsibility for making it so.”
—Noam Chomsky
At Toth + Co, we identify with optimism; it informs every project we work on and every relationship we create. It’s not just a way of seeing the world. It’s a strategic vision that guides what we do.
We’re a privately owned company of 50 or so really smart, dedicated and - yes - optimistic people. The kind of talented folks you would expect from a branding / marketing / advertising / digital firm. Our offices overlook the Charles River in Cambridge, Massachusetts, right next door to MIT.
We’re the anti-fashion fashion people behind some of the most successful global lifestyle brands in America. We were introduced to Tommy Hilfiger when it was an $80M company. When we left eight years later, it was at $1.4B.
We started in 1983, as mid-wife to the birth of J.Crew. That led us straight to Ralph Lauren, when Polo was $100M. From there, we headed to Tommy Hilfiger on 39th Street and then hopped aboard Coach, where we changed perception of the company from a bullet-proof, out-of-date leather bag maker to one symbolizing true American Luxury. Coach now has a market cap of over $18B.
We stand apart because our priority is you. We are among the few companies that embrace our clients by taking time to understand them. We call our process Brand DNA.
It’s a methodology that puts your brand first, looking at how it affects the culture within your organization, and how it shows up in the lives of your consumers. Brand DNA is a strategy sourced from another neighbor, The Harvard Business School. It’s specifically tailored to lifestyle brands. Basically, we’re there with you as you experience the pressures that come with change, determining what you will let go of and what you will preserve in your goal to become relevant and competitive.
We have the experience to help you achieve your dreams of becoming a recognized, successful company. Our track record speaks for itself.
You might start in chaos. We think that’s normal. Chaos has the energy to feed the big ideas and big dreams that can change the way you see yourself. But don’t take our word for it. Write us and we’ll send you some testimonials from people who dared to dream and created a better future. Will you be one of them?
We’re optimistic.
